The ads pasting initiative calling for parents to contact to complain about discrimination reached the city of Bnei Brak, but there for some reason it stopped: the pasters and developers were informed that Bnei Brak municipality prohibits them to paste ads in its territory.

According to one of the developers, "the message of the municipality of Bnei Brak is outrageous since only last month it was published that in Bnei Brak there are about 100 Separdi girls who remained outside any educational framework, particularly as a result of the severe discrimination that exists here."

He says, "When we asked why we were forbidden to do so, the municipal secretary replied that the mayor's authority is to approve and reject ads hanging in his city and in our case he decided to reject it.

"He argues that it is no less and no more than slander against the managers of seminaries," as if they do not want to speak of the existence of the appeals committee."

It was a marvel to answer because we never heard any case where the principals of seminaries publish or refer parents to the committee. Also, it is surprising how in such a difficult situation of discrimination the municipality chooses to stand on the side of those who discriminate and not of those who were discriminated against.

"Given the city's response, we are currently reviewing with an attorney, the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the city."

The text of the letter sent to the municipality

In accordance with the bylaw of Bnei Brak (signage and advertising) from 1993, it was published in Hs"m 508, from 1993, in the third chapter, ads, article 15, states that "No person shall publish or allow another to publish or cause to be advertised, only in places determined by the mayor, and in accordance with the permit conditions."

Section 18 (a) of this law states that, "No person shall publish notice, unless the name and address of the advertiser and the owner of the press which printed ad is specified."

Section 16 (b) (2) states that "the mayor may refuse to grant a permit if advertising the ad violates some provisions of this bylaw or any other law," and here is published defamation of all managers of seminaries, as if they do not want people to know the existence of the Appeals Committee (By the way, the municipality made sure to publish the appeal committee on its part in local newspapers and billboards, as part of a registration notice to secondary schools and seminaries).

Following all of the above, the permit to post this ad was prevented."
