"We live here under enormous stress, maybe you can do something for us through the U.S. government to get us out of here, we feel that it is time to get out of here," says Avraham Ben Yahiya during a phone call from Sana'a, Yemen.
Tension prevails these days in Yemen, the Yemeni capital streets are filled with military vehicles and soldiers guarding the presidential palace and embassies in Western countries.
Yemen security sources have revealed that dozens of al - Qaeda terrorists recently reached Sana'a in preparation for a terrorist attack. Yemen army estimates, terrorist attack will be activated using explosive devices and suicide bombers against ambassadors and foreign representatives and hitting targets of the Yemeni army.
CNN reported that the special forces of the U.S. Army were jacked up to high alert in preparation for possible operations in the event of a terrorist attack.
Avraham Ben Yahiya says that currently only about two hundred Jews remain in Yemen.
It has been proposed to leave Yemen, but they refused; now they are eager to go out and seek Satmar chassidim who are in regular contact with the community, to do everything so that they can leave.
"They've often tried to convince us to leave for Monsey", he says, "the activists promised us an apartment and food, but we were born here, our fathers are buried here at the cemetery, how can we leave our house where we lived all these years? The President is a good person, send us gifts every holiday and promised to protect us, but now we are also concerned he cannot protect us.
"Great tension here, we do not go out except to buy food and prayer, not everyone goes out for prayer, there are those who are afraid, the situation here is very tense, we do not know what will happen, even the president fears. Even authorities are afraid.
"I expect," he says, "Americans will also rescue us from Yemen as they do currently with the American citizens in Yemen."
