British insurance company Lloyds is offering a reward of a million Euros to anyone who provides information leading to the return of the diamonds and jewelry of businessman Lev Leviev, which were stolen last week from the Intercontinental Carlton Hotel in Cannes on the French Riviera.

"The award of a million Euros is offered to the first person to provide information leading to the stolen diamonds. The offer is subject to certain conditions," the statement of the insurance company said.

The diamonds and jewelry were stolen from the Leviev collection in the exhibition, in one of the largest jewelry thefts ever. The value of the stolen diamonds and jewelry is estimated at 103 million Euros.

The robber who committed the theft carried a semiautomatic handgun, his head was covered with a cloth, and according to the French security authorities, he escaped with "all different kinds of jewelry, including rings, pendants, and diamond earrings." They said the robber "took a suitcase containing a bag and a small box and then escaped through the window. He had no car, he fled the scene on foot."

French police is checking whether the 'Pink Panther' gang, several members of which recently escaped from prison, is behind the robbery. The police began to review photographs of security cameras, hoping that these will help shed light on the identity of the robber, and whether there were other people who helped him.
