Yeshiva student fell from boat in Kinneret and injured in abdomen • stable condition

Yeshiva student, 20 years old, a resident of Sanhedriya in Jerusalem, who was on vacation in Tiberias with his family during bein hazmanim, was hurt in the abdomen by a propeller of a motor boat, near the Holiday Inn beach in Tiberias, after falling from a boat which sailed.

The yeshiva student was hit shortly after 16:30. Volunteer medics of Ichud Hatzalah gave him first aid, after he was brought to shore, and he was evacuated by the MDA ambulance to the Poriah hospital in the city.

The boy, the grandson of Rabbi Aharon Chadash, mashgiach of the Mir Yeshiva, was taken into emergency surgery. When coming out of the operating room his condition was defined as serious but stable.

His name for davening: Aryeh Leib ben Yael.

Nathan Tzadka, Ichud Hatzala medic, said: "The boy was hurt in the stomach from a banana boat at sea, and was raised onto the boat by which he was injured and brought her to the beach, where we gave him first aid, then was taken to continue receiving medical treatment in Poriah Hospital."

MDA paramedic Shimon Vaknin, who arrived and treated him said: "We came to the beach and saw a young man laying inside a boat, conscious. He looked exhausted, suffering from abdominal injury. We gave him first aid while still in the boat, and took him to intensive care unit. While treating him, he was evacuated in critical condition to the Poriah hospital."

Mia Zaban, Poriah hospital spokeswoman, told Behadrey Haredim, that the condition of the injured is very difficult, and he is in the trauma room, sedated and on a respirator. He was brought to the operating room, where doctors continued to fight for his life.

Boatmen of the towing boat were detained at Tiberias police station.
