Educator of Baltimore • Rabbi Hirsch Diskind zt"l

Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon Rabbi Hirsch Diskind zt"l, son-in-law of Rabbi Yaakov Kamenetsky zt"l, passed away in Baltimore.

The deceased was principal of the Bais Yaakov School in Baltimore for more than thirty years, and was known as a great talmid chochom and a humble man who fled from honor. As a distinguished educator he developed a special educational method - used today in many Torah institutions across the U.S..

In his youth was one of the first students of the Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin, and received his rabbinical ordination from the Rosh Yeshiva.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rivka Diskind and his daughters Mina Bodenheimer from Bnei Brak, Tzipora Friedman from Baltimore, Eti Stern from Monsey and Eti Enhamer from Lakewood. His son is Rabbi Pesach Diskind from Baltimore.

The funeral left Thursday at 12pm from Bais Yaakov Baltimore.
