Good news: Rabbi Ovadia Isicov, Chabad emissary who was shot, took a few steps today (Thursday). This is a miracle since just a week ago Isicov was in serious condition and brought to Israel when he sedated and on a respirator.

Rabbi Isikov, Chabad emissary in Dabernet province of Dagestan in Russia, was shot and seriously wounded by a Muslim terrorist, who was waiting for him on Thursday morning, when he returned from a trip of schita for the Jews of the Caucasus. He was treated in Russia, and was transferred on Thursday night on a special flight to Israel. Upon landing he was taken to the intensive care ward in Beilinson hospital.

On Friday afternoon rabbi Isikov underwent surgery which ended successfully before shabbos. The bleeding in the liver stopped and his functioning stabilized. A few hours later he woke up, and his condition began to improve gradually.

Over the last week, when he was hospitalized, many rabbis and personalities came to visit him in the hospital. Among them, the new Chief Rabbi, David Lau, who promised the casualty "I'll come visit you in your city of mission."
