For the first time since Shuvu Banim community leader, Hgr"e Berland escaped from Israel to Morocco last Pesach, he's officially invited to an event held by the Jewish community in Marrakech.
Local community noted yesterday the coronation of King of Morocco - Mohammed VI. This is the official ceremony in which every senior in the southern region in Marrakech participates, including military and government officials, and heads of the Jewish community.
Rabbi Berland was invited too and welcomed the audience in participation, having become almost a permanent resident in Morocco – which has no extradition treaty with Israel.
Last night there was also a Bar Mitzvah of one of the Shuvu Banim members who came with his son and some of his family members to celebrate the simcha with his mentor. On Friday there was also a chalaka for one of the disciples who came especially from Israel to Rabbi Berland to cut his hair.
So far, a wedding, one bar mitzvah, three brisim and three chalakas have been conducted in the presence of Rabbi Berland abroad.
