Chabad shooting • "condition now mild to moderate"

Major improvement in the condition of Chabad emissary, hospitalized in intensive care at Beilinson Hospital.

"Rabbi came out of a life-threatening condition which is now set to mild to medium. He is fully conscious and breathing on his own. He currently remains in general intensive care for supervision," says Dr. Ilya Kagan, a senior doctor in intensive care who flew on Thursday to treat the Rabbi.

Rabbi Ovadia Isakov, Chabad emissary in the Dagestan region in Russia, was on Thursday morning on his way back from a slaughtering trip for the Jews of the Caucasus. At about 5:00 (local time) he returned to his home. A Muslim terrorist, waiting for him, shot him - and he was badly wounded. On Friday, he was flown to Israel and was admitted to the intensive care unit at Beilinson, in a life threatning condition.
Many medical teams treated the rabbi, to stabilize the situation including: trauma team that included Dr. Oleg Kaminsky and Dr. David Aharonovitz who analyzed and stabilized the situation, Dr. Alex Blinky head of radiology and invasive and intensive care teams.

Vice Chairman of the Center for Education and Head of Chabad in the world, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, visited the wounded at Belinson Hospital and wished him a speedy recovery on behalf of all the thousands of emissaries around the world. Kotlarsky received an update from the medical ICU.
