36-year-old Elad resident was arrested this morning on suspicion of igniting 100 dumpsters in recent months.

The arrest took place at the end of a strenuous and intense investigation that lasted several weeks, when this morning police detectives from Rosh Ha'ayin station arrested a resident of Elad, 36, who allegedly set fire during the last four months to over 100 bins across the city.

Since the month of Nissan a wave of igniting garbage cans started in Elad. Ronen Saban, a city police commander, told a local newspaper that intelligence work is being done to find the arsonist or serial arsonists - but the fires continued.

In one incidence, two vehicles parked near one of the bins set on fire were burned down. Most of the cans were set on fire at night and some were set on fire when the suspect made his way to shull.

The suspect, married with children, tied himself to some acts, and will be brought to court - where police will request to extend his detention.

Elad Police Commander, Superintendent Ronen Saban said with satisfaction to Behadrey Haredim: "After hard work of police detectives of Rosh Ha'ayin, for several weeks, and vigorous intelligence activity, the suspect was arrested in the early morning, and tomorrow he will be brought to court will require the extension of arrest."
