Elections will start with the arrival of 150 members of the Electoral Assembly at 3 pm, which will choose a Sephardic rabbi and Ashkenazi Rabbi. At 6 pm and the elections will end and the count would last about an hour. The winners will be announced at 7 and will come into the offices of the Chief Rabbinate in Jerusalem at 80 Yirmiyahu Street.
The struggle between the rabbis was scandalous and unprecedented intrigue involving leaders of political parties - especially Shas and Habayit Hayehudi.
Today we will decide the election between candidates Shas mostly on one side, with the other candidates from religious Zionism. But Election Day will cause serious implications for even longer.
Members of the Electoral Assembly will choose a Sephardic rabbi amongst the rabbis: Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Rabbi Zion Boaron and Rabbi Dr. Razon Arussi; counterpart of Ashkenazi is elected amongst the rabbis: Rabbi David Stav, Rabbi David Lau and Rabbi Yaakov Shapira.
Three Rabbis resigned during the race: Rabbi Eliyahu Abergel, Rabbi Yehuda Deri and Rabbi Eliezer Igra, who announced the removal of candidacy.
