Deceased from Beit Shemesh: funeral was delayed until midnight

Funeral of the late Rabbi Shlomo Gelber, left at midnight (Tuesday) from Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem, to Har Hazesim.

The deceased, a real estate developer in the city, suffered this afternoon sudden cardiac event at work. He was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem - where he passed away, when he was 33 at his death.

The deceased was born to his parents in Jerusalem and in his youth studied at the Mir Yeshiva and Beer Yitzchak of Rabbi Simpolinsky.

After his marriage he lived in Jerusalem and Ramat Beit Shemesh, and as a living was working in real estate business in Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel in Mitzpe Berama.
In Beit Shemesh he belonged to the community of Beit Avraham, where he davened, and attended a Daf Yomi shiur every morning. Over the years he supported the community and also helped fund the local charity.

His friend Yeruham Estreicher told B'Chadrei Charedim: "We've lost a loved one with a big heart, always with a smile on his face. We are just shocked." Another friend said: "Only yesterday he was with us at a performance by Avraham Fried and showed great joy, he is suddenly gone."
He left a widow and three young children.
The funeral was supposed to leave this evening from Jerusalem. Due to an argument concerning the burial plot the funeral was delayed and will leave at 11:45 pm from Shamgar in Jerusalem to Har Hazesim.
