הסמינר לא קיבל את הבנות והקהילה החרדית סוערת

לפני כ-30 שנה ראש ישיבת מנצ'סטר הרב סגל זצ"ל החליט להקים סמינר, בסיוע עם עסקנים מקומיים הוקם סמינר מקומי, 'בית שרה שנירר'. הסמינר גדל והפך לאחד המקומות החשובים בעיר, שמעביר השקפה תורנית לבנות מקומיות שרוצות ללמוד שם, ואחד הסיבות לפתיחה, היה כדי לתת עדיפות לבנות מקומיות, לפני בנות מחוץ לעיר.

נכון לעכשיו מעל 75% מהתלמידות אינם ממנצ'סטר, אלא מערים אחרות באנגליה, ואף בנות ממדינות אחרות, למרות העובדה שהסמינר לא מלא עד אפס מקום, ההנהלה לא מוכנה לקבל את אותן בנות שלמדו בתיכון בית יעקב המקומי.

המשפחות ניסו הכול, הרבנים המקומיים התערבו, אך ההנהלה לא מוכנה לשמוע כלום, בניגוד לישראל שיש לבנות אופציות רבות, במנצ'סטר היבול דל, ואין מספיק מוסדות חינוך. מספר עסקנים והורים לבנות שכן התקבלו סיפרו ל'בחדרי חרדים' כי לא ברור ההתנכלות של 'בית שרה שנירר' לבנות הללו. "אין להן שום בעיה, המשפחות חרדיות מיינסטרים, הן לא בנות בעיתיות או מקולקלות, פשוט התנכלות מכוונת מסיבות לא ברורות" אומר לנו אחד ההורים שבתו כן התקבלה. ומטבע הדברים הוא יישאר בעילום שם.

אחת המשפחות שבתם כן התקבלה סיפרו ל'בחדרי חרדים' כי הבנות יושבות בבית ובוכות, "את הבת שלי קיבלו, אבל את חברה שלה לא קיבלו, ואני לא מבין למה, הבת שלי מתביישת נורא שהיא כן התקבלה וחברה שלה לא התקבלה, אני חושש להביע את דעתי בקול, כי הסמינר יבטל את הקבלה של הבת שלי".

'בחדרי חרדים' פנה למנהלת הסמינר, גברת מרמשטיין, לגבי הטענה כי הבנות לא התקבלו מסיבות לא ענייניות. מנהלת הסמינר בחרה שלא להגיב.

The families tried everything, the local rabbis intervened, but Rabbi Marmorstein and his wife refuse to hear anything, unlike Israel which has many options, in Manchester this is the only Sem which was set up by the rosh hayeshiva for Manchester girls

Yet most girls are from France, London, and all over the world, a number of activists and parents of girls who were accepted told 'Behadrei Haredim' that the harassment of Beit Sarah Schnirer to these girls was not clear. "They have no problem, they are from families from the strictly Charedi community, they are not problematic girls, just harassment for unclear reasons"

One of the parents tells us that his daughter was accepted, but he will remain anonymous. also one of the families whose daughter was accepted told 'Behadrei Haredim' that the girls are sitting at home crying, "They received my daughter, but they did not accept her friend, and I don't understand why, my daughter is very ashamed that she was accepted and her friend was not accepted, I am afraid to express my opinion because they seminar will cancel my daughter's admission

Behadrei Haredim contacted the director of the seminary, Mrs. Marmostein, regarding the claim that the girls were not accepted for serious reasons. The director of the seminary chose not to comment
