Not every day a funeral takes place in Meron, certainly not of a deceased who never lived in Meron, and even more, when his burial place is adjacent to the tomb of Rabbi Yochanan Hasandlar.

The deceased is Rabbi Chaim Ohayon z"l from Bnei Brak, whose death was already written about in B'Chadrei Charedim. Rabbi Ohayon was part of the Rashbi Kollel, following which he participated in the Kolle of Rabbi Sorotzkin and later became a Ra"m of Yeshivat Keter Torah.

Rabbi Ohayon became ill a short while ago, the location of the growth was rare, and in Israel there is no remedy for this type of disease. With the help of Rabbi Elimelech Firer, chairman of Ezra Lamarpe, the deceased was flown to Germany, where he was treated by the best doctor in the field, who treated this kind of case for the second time. Following surgery, Rabbi Ohayon was Sedated and on a respirator, but he returned his soul to His creator, following an infection which the doctors were unable to overcome.

According to the family, he would always go to kivrei tzaddikim, and especially felt elevated at the tomb of Rabbi Yochanan Hasandlar a'h. Even before being flown to Germany, he went to all kivrei tzaddikim. Later he wrote a short will in which he requested to be buried adjacent to the tomb of Rabbi Yochanan Hasandlar, adding the 'reasons are his' without explaining further.

"Throughout all his difficulties, and throughout his lifetime, he would say the passuk: "I trust in You Hashem", as hope that good will come and Hashem will have mercy on him. We felt he was especially elevated this past year, preparing for the future to come." They elaborate with pain.

One of the avrechim at the kollel who learned with him said that he borrowed a book from him, the book was in his home for a long time, and when he met him once he said; I feel so bad, I must return the book to you. But Rabbi Ohayon who loved to help others said; "don't worry; you can donate the book to a shul.'

Following his death, the family turned to Hgray"l Steinman and told him about the will. Hgray"l ordered to fulfill it, fulfill the will of the deceased and bury him in Meron.

The deceased who passed away at the age of 39, left a pregnant wife and 8 young children.

His coffin was brought to Israel today; from there it was taken to Maaynei Hayeshua in Bnei Brak to carry out the purity procedures.

The funeral will be held at 21:30 at the Beis Midrash Tiferes Nachman on Eben Shfirot in Bnei Brak near the flour factory and Sokolov Street. Following the eulogizing the entourage left to Meron. Buses are leaving Ofakim starting from 20:00 near the Shearit Yaaov shul.

The deceased family says that he left large debts, including debts from the difficult treatment, and they call out to anyone who can help the widow and eight orphans.
