Following the appeal of MK Yisrael Eichler to Egged to stop the offending campaign against the ultra-Orthodox community, who pays dearly for their trips, Egged announced the termination of the campaign, which created misunderstanding as if the ultra-Orthodox do not pay the bus fare.

In a letter issued by Egged they expressed regret for hurting honest people who pay legally, following the "wrong interpretation" given the requirement for payment from the few who get on the bus without fee.

MK Gafni's office said: "After clarification with Egged spokesman Ron Ratner he said that the campaign for payment on buses ended and Egged will publish new ads in newspapers."

Earlier, MK Gafni said on the campaign: "Egged would not dare to publish such a campaign against any other public or population. Audacity to publish such a claim only against the haredi public is outrageous and unacceptable. "

MK Yaakov Lizman responded and said, "I recommend Egged instead of spending money on this shameful campaign advertising they should invest their money on additional Haredi public transport which is its biggest consumer."
