For five months, Rabbi Eliezer Berland has been staying in Morocco, because of the ongoing investigation against him in Israel. So far, his family visited him and hundreds of his followers. In the coming day's one of the great rabbis of Breslev will visit him too.
B'Chadrei Charedim has learned that immediately after Tisha B'Av, hundreds of people will go out from Israel to Morocco who go annually to kivrei tzaddikim in the North African country. One main reason for the trip is the hillula of Rabbi Amram Ben Diwan, buried in Morocco.
One of the regular people who travel is Rabbi Shalom Arush, Rosh Yeshivat Chut shel Chesed and a leader of Breslev. It seems that Rabbi Shalom Arush, will be meeting with the Rabbi Berland.
"There is no exact date or planning for such a meeting," said a board member of Rabbi Arush, "but it's something the Rabbi will not give up on."
At the outset of the affair which stirred the Shuvu Banim community, Rabbi Shalom Arush was among the first to publicly speak out in favor of Rabbi Berland. From words exposed by B'Chadrei Charedim, Rabbi Arush said: "This man opened up the way to Kever Rachel, opened for us the way to Yosef's Tomb in Nablus and the way to Uman. He opened the hatch into this world… a very great man, how can you say such things about him without knowing the whole truth "
200 followers of Rabbi Berland are currently staying in Morocco, who arrived before Shabbos to stay alongside him during the Tisha B'Av fast. It is estimated that up to Tisha B'Av 100 more followers will reach the area. Prayers held on the fast day, which Rabbi Berland holds for long hours, will be held in the main synagogue of the Jewish community in Marrakech.
