Jerusalem Magistrate's Court indicted 22-year-old Yosef Brown and 21 year old Yaakov Krishevsky, for aggravated assault of a police officer, disorder line of police officer duty and rioting. Defendants committed the acts while extracting the Haredi soldier from a building in the Meah Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem.

According to the indictment, on 09/07/13, at about 19:00, the soldier arrived for a short vacation from the army, during which he visited his uncle who lives in the neighborhood of Meah Shearim. The soldier came to the scene wearing a military uniform and wearing a yarmulke. When he walked through the neighborhood, passer bys called him derogatory names such as "Chardak" and shouted "Go away."

About 50 meters from the office of the uncle, a garbage bag was thrown on the soldier who hit him in the back by a person whose identity is unknown. The soldier, who saw gathering around him, fled to the uncle's office. When he reached the office, he withdrew together with his uncle and called the police who arrived to rescue him.
With the arrival of the police at the scene, many people gathered, including the accused, and threw stones, pieces of metal, chairs and buckets of water at the police. A police officer called for rioters to evacuate and disperse the crowd because it is illegal. However, the rioters, including the defendants, remained.

While trying to scatter the rioters Brown threw bottles and stones at police. After being arrested, he tried to escape from their clutches and escape. The police ran after him, caught him and led him to the patrol car. On his way to the van, Brown requested his friends to help him escape and tried to escape by holding hands with his friends.

At the same event, Krishevsky throw stones, pieces of metal and glass bottles at police who worked there. Some of the stones and iron rods attacked the policeman. Krishevsky was arrested by the police and during detention, ranted, kicked his legs at the police and spat at them.

The court didn’t accept the request of the police to leave them in custody until the end of proceedings, and released the two suspects. The police warrant a stay of execution, and at another hearing which was held, extended their detention until Monday.

Following remand, a proclamation was held in the Geula neighborhood in Meah Shearim that at 19:50 a mass Kabalas Shabbos will be held on Shivtei Yisrael corner of Meah Shearim near the Russian Compound, with the participation of Hgr"o and activist Shimon Bruin.

Attorney Yair Nehorai, representing the suspect Krishevsky, said in response: "The indictment contradicts the reality as revealed details of the video taken during the event. It is difficult to understand how an indictment was filed.
