The White House said tonight (Monday) that the change in aid to Egypt does not serve American interests after the ouster of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said the United States has not yet decided whether to recognize the coup overthrowing of Morsi, a definition that would force the Obama administration to stop aid to Cairo. "To definition of the coup would be profound significance and broad impact on the millions of Egyptians," explained Carney.
Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department called on the Egyptian army for maximum restraint in the face of protests by supporters of the ousted president. This follows the deaths of 51 people in the massacre that took place against the military installation which is held in Murcia. "We strongly condemn any violence and its expression," said U.S. State Department spokeswoman, Jen Pessac. "We call on the army to act with restraint, just as we call the demonstrators to act peacefully," she explained.
Today it was reported that dozens of armed fighters moved from the Gaza Strip through the tunnels, to fight the Egyptian army in North Sinai. Security system does not recognize the report, but did not say it is not possible.
Egyptian army did not regret opening fire at demonstrators. They also warn the Muslim Brotherhood: "If you attack again – we will shoot again."
The army commander, Abad Al - Fattah Sisi, dared to do what Mubarak and Morsi did not do - to open fire on demonstrators. Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood are still at the Squares and do not plan on folding up.
