Conscription law which passed yesterday (Sunday) at the cabinet vote has been disturbing Hgray"l Steinman for months - since the subject was on the agenda, especially now, after the government approved it last night.
This morning, Hgray"l said to one of his associates: "I am very worried about the situation today," adding that, "When they want to decrease Torah – we must increase Torah".
This statement joins recent statements of Hgray"l, which we must daven to Hashem that they won't be able to harm us, and many more yeshivas should be built and more places of Torah.
Meanwhile, during a shiur Hgray"l gives to students of Orchos Torah on Motzei Shabbos, he talked about chilul Hashem which is more severe than idolatry in secret, as explained in the Rabbeinu Yonah. He brought an example of this - that in the elections there are those who vote for a secular candidate rather than an ultra-Orthodox candidate.
