Kfir Brigade commander, Col. Udi Ben Moha, changed at the last minute the camp commanders of Nahal Haredi battalion Nezach Yehuda, for fear of their secular lifestyle, Ma'ariv reported.

Recruitment this August hundreds of warriors should join Nahal Haredi battalion, and the IDF hope that this cycle will become a model for thousands of ultra-Orthodox which the IDF plans to recruit.

A few days ago the commanders gathered for a new basic training cycle for the preparation of the division staff, as company commanders of some Haredi recruits were from other regiments of the brigade. During the preparation of faculty, secular commanders asked the brigade commander lifestyle questions about the expected command of haredi soldiers. Among other things, the commanders were interested in everyday life with the ultra-Orthodox soldiers and asked difficult questions such as whether they can smoke, listen to music and watch TV on weekends and holidays.

Due to the nature of the questions brigade commander decided that they should be replaced with command staff who are already familiar with the Orthodox tradition, to prevent harm both to new recruits and inexperienced commanders. Following consultation with officials at Army Headquarters they ordered to replace all the command staff of the designed company and put in place other commanders, mostly religious.

"In the current situation there is no choice. Imagine what could happen if the soldiers would see their commander holding an immodest newspaper. It could be very problematic for them and for the commander who should gain their trust," said a military source to Ma'ariv.

The Association for the Religious Soldier sent a letter of praise to the commander and praised him for his sensitivity he discovered. Rabbi Shlomo Goldreich, Rabbi of the Association: "it is good to have army commanders who are sensitive to the situation of the Haredi soldier and prevented a situation which could hurt the success of the Association for recruiting to the Nezach Yehuda battalion."

The IDF spokesman said in response to Ma'ariv: "The IDF must act in creating an environment appropriate to the lifestyle of the soldiers. Nezach Yehuda battalion is a sector battalion designed for religious life and to serve in the IDF as a combat, both at training and operational employment stage."
