Barkat: Pindrus gave up on Haredi Kiryat Yovel • Pindrus: not true

In recent weeks Safra Square is storming due to a turbulent plan promoted by the Jerusalem municipality, which includes changing the zoning of the land in Kiryat Yovel.

On Thursday, in a stormy session of the City Council, Mayor Nir Barkat presented the seating plan for the Pre secular military compound Warburg in Kiryat Yovel.

Deputy Mayor Yitzchak Pindrus, who holds the religious education portfolio, said that the lot is designed for years for the Haredi neighborhood children and filed an appeal against the decision of the Planning and Building Committee on the subject.

Pindrusalso announced that he would submit a lawsuit against the approval plan procedure.

But Barkat said that the decision on the designation of the complex was made together with Pindrus at the beginning of his term. Barkat also introduced a plan formulated by Pindrus which entitled "Strategic Plan for reducing construction disparities of Orthodox educational institutions in Jerusalem."

Barkat said that from reading the urban working document of Pindrus, the land dispute "Warburg" in Kiryat Yovel, is featured outside the master plan which aims to build classrooms in the sector over the next decade.

Pindrus rejected this and said that this is an older program from many years ago, one of dozens of programs written and do not reflect anything.

"There is a distortion of the facts," says Pindrus, "as indeed certain agreements were formulated regarding other complexes and are included in one of the documents., But because the complex in Kiryat Yovel there was no agreement, so it is not mentioned and omitted from the document of agreements.

"Until this moment, there is no agreement with the mayor about the compound, since as opposed to his opinion; my position is that this compound should be a solution for the children of the Haredi community in Kiryat Yovel."

In response to B'Chadrei Charedim, Pindrus added and said that Barkat did not claim it, and the facts have been distorted.
