"My boys aged 18 and 16 will listen to their rabbis and go to jail and will not stop their studies at the yeshiva," MK Meir Porush declared today (Wednesday), at the plenary.

The statement was made in response to the recommendations of the Perry Committee to the Government.

"I want to say something," he said, "and I want particularly when there is a large presence of MKs, to tell you: Yesterday the Perry Committee, chaired by Minister Perry transferred to the government which will discuss on Sunday a law which its title is actually the first in 65 years, whereby only 1,800 yeshiva students will receive delay from the military.

"I want to tell you: I am the father of 12 children, at home I still have two children - one age 18 and two months and one 16 and four months. I tell you, even if you pass the law, they will hear what the Roshei Yeshiva tell them to do, and they will hear what the Admorim say.

"My children will go to jail, and you will not succeed under any circumstances. It will not help you because we represent the history, we continue with the same way since Har Sinai. We will go to jail and you will stay as you stay: with the violence, Mr. Minister of Education."
