Metzger Affair: Chaim Eisenstadt, driver and personal assistant of Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, suspected of taking bribes, fraud and breach of trust, fraud and money laundering was released on Friday to house arrest for 15 days.

Eisenstadt will stay under house arrest at his brother's home in Yesodot and he is banned from contacting anyone involved in the case for 60 days. He was also prohibited to leave the country for 180 days and deposited his passport at the police investigative unit office.

Eisenstadt's release was made after ten days of the upheavals in the rabbinate world in Israel with the arrest of the Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Yona Metzger on suspicion of various offenses, and his release to house arrest for eight days. In addition to Rabbi Metzger three others were arrested, CEO of Beit Hatavshil, Rabbi Simcha Krakowski, Rabbi Nissan Ben-Zion Zioni director of Beit Midrash and training of rabbis and dayanim in Tel Aviv and director of Tzedaka U'mishpat, who is also Rosh Kollel of Rabbi Metzger in Tel Aviv, and Chaim Eisenstadt. They were all released to house arrest.

The police filed a confidential report and managed to extend the detention of Eisenstadt by a week.

As said, on Friday he was released to full house arrest for 15 days.
