Even Kerry's fifth visit could not resume negotiations • U.S. Secretary of State canceled a press conference, but hours before he left the area, will continue to try to bridge the gaps

The joy of the return to negotiations and reports of a four part summit conference in Jordan were probably too early – this morning (Sunday) after a particularly long and exhausting round of meetings over the weekend, it seems Kerry is finishing his fifth visit to the area without success either. As reported by Army Radio.

In the coming hours he will continue efforts to try to bridge the gaps and in the afternoon is expected to take off from Israel. Over the last hour Kerry canceled the press conference which was planned at the airport before taking off and he will be satisfied with a brief statement at the foot of the plane.

It is hard to know how far Kerry accomplished progress at meetings he held, and whether he was able to reduce the gaps between the parties. As recalled Abbu Mazen's demands are the release of prisoners, removing barriers and a statement on Netanyahu's part that negotiations will take place on the basis of 67 lines.
