The longest course in the IDF - the prestigious pilots course – was completed today (Thursday) in Hazerim by dozens of graduates, in a ceremony attended by a crowd of hundreds of family, friends and a hundred and fifty Holocaust survivors who were invited in the framework of pilots' project. The event was attended by officials such as President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon, Chief of Staff - Gen. Benny Gantz, and Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel, who gave them personally the desired pin.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the ceremony, saying "whoever needs to know, knows it. In the past year we worked in many places and we achieved our goals."

Chief of Staff Lt. - Gen. Benjamin (Benny) Gantz said at the Wings Order: " Today, the strategic picture presents special challenges in ranges and types of range which are many and different than ever. Look around, the ring shakes, in the south and north. Syria is still bleeding and in Lebanon fire began to take the edge of Nasrallah's robe. In face of this changing reality, we are required to be more prepared, coordinated and prepared than ever. You, the graduates, now have an integral part of maintaining readiness against these challenges, a part in tightening and strengthening of integration and a significant and leading part in the IDF's power".

"Course 166 graduates, the three years journey comes to an end today. You were chosen, out of thousands, to the most demanding course in the IDF. You acquired flight skills in a three-dimensional and wondrous world. You proved inspiration and determination: a solid database for aerial fighters: brave, with moral force and intellectual power," said Maj. Gen. Eshel to the graduates. "You have become mature and prudent in your approach in your response, as required from those who will trigger the most deadly power of the State of Israel. You have been found worthy to fly the tools rare in number and great in significance, for Israel's security."
