67 years of disconnection ended: a shidduch between Toldos and Shomrei Emunim
Grandson of the Toldos Avraham Yitzchak Rebbe engaged with the great-granddaughter of Shomrei Emunim Rebbe zt"l, on yahrzeit of his wife the Rebbetzin • What did the Rebbe promise during his life?
- Moshe Weisberg, B'Chadrei Charedim
- י"ט תמוז התשע"ג
Great joy in Toldos Avraham Yitzchak on the engagement of David Zvi Teitelbaum, the grandson of the Rebbe, first son of his great son in law Rebbe Leibush Teitelbaum hy"d, son of the Av Beit Din, who was killed in the Chabad House in Mumbai, India.
The bride is the daughter of the Rebbe Maaglei Zedek Desh of Borough Park, granddaughter of the Desh Rebbe and great-granddaughter of the Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim zt"l.
This is a special joy in the two courtyards, for the first time in 67 years the offspring of the Toldos Aharon Rebbe and Shomrei Emunim Rebbe will be getting married. The two are brothers in law through Rebbe Aharon Rotha, but since his death there was a disconnection between the son in law of Toldos Aharon and the son of Shomrei Emunim.
Now the circle has been closed and the shidduch set out. Despite attempts in recent years to make a shidduch between the two courtyards, the Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim zt"l always said that after his death – when the day comes – his descendants will marry the descendants of his brother in law.
The day of the engagement falls on the same day of the yarzheit of the Rebbetzin Batya Chaya Rotha a"h, wife of the Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim zt"l, who passed away three years ago.
