Lakewood: Chaverim volunteer attacked at night

Lakewood Chaverim organization dispatcher was surprised to receive an urgent call last night from a senior member of being attacked by young people.

The incident occurred at ten-thirty at night, when the volunteer drove along 5th Avenue No. 9 when a car with two young men and a young woman tried to overtake him and cause an accident.

The volunteer was able to navigate his way and continued on his way, but the young people who were probably drunk continued to drive after the volunteer's car and managed to block him.
The three got out, carrying beer bottles and sticks and began to attack the car and smash the car's windows.

The volunteer locked his doors and called for help while trying to protect against broken glass. Police and members came and were able to stop the two young drunken. The young woman managed to escape under cover of darkness, and police are looking for her.

At this point the police gathered security tapes at nearby homes of the scene. The volunteer was mildly injured by shrapnel from the glass.
