Died abruptly • bearer of Yemenite children struggle: the late Rabbi Uzi Meshulam

Baruch Dayan Haemes: in Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba died today (Friday) Rabbi Uzi Meshulam z"l who demanded in the 90's an investigation into the 'kidnapping of Yemenite children', and he was 60 during his death.
In the 90's Uzi Meshulam barricaded himself in his house along with his followers in Yahud along with his followers. Many of the police forces, SWAT team snipers and troops surrounded his house for weeks until they broke into the house and arrested his followers.
Uzi Meshulam himself was convicted of providing instruction to throw Molotov cocktails at police and obstruction of justice. He was sentenced to eight years but was credited of one of the offenses and the sentence was reduced to six and a half years.
Shortly afterwards, his health deteriorated and he was hospitalized. Followers continued to protest, but their public protest faded.
The funeral was held today Erev Shabbos Parashat Balak from his home in Yehud to the local cemetery - where he was buried alongside his grandfather.
