Involved in attack at Yoseph's Tomb were arrested: ISA and IDF arrested three terrorists on the 13th of Sivan of the Palestinian security forces, who were involved in the attack near Yoseph's Tomb in Nablus, on 14th Iyar 5772, in which Ben Yosef Livnat hy"d was murdered, and five other Israelis who entered Yoseph's Tomb to pray, were injured.
The three were detained for questioning by the ISA, after escaping from jail in the PA on April 24, 2013, after serving two years in prison (after being convicted and admitting to firing in the air only).
The three are: Nawaf Fahad Nuaf Bani Udeh, born in 1989, resident of Tamun / Dothan, served as an armed recon soldier, Wael Hussein Mohmad Daoud, born in 1989, resident of Qalqiliya, served as an armed recon soldier; Tarki Thiab Zoarah, born in 1990, resident of Albira / Ramallah, served as the tour drivier, without arms.
Two other terrorists, the patrol commander and one of its participants who were involved in firing at Israeli worshipers, were not yet arrested. The patrol commander, Mohammed Kaher Jamil Tzaabenah, is still serving the sentence imposed in a court of the Palestinian Authority for his share in the attack, while the other participant is wanted for questioning and hiding in the mechanism building.
The detainees admitted during interrogation that some of the firing they carried out was directed at the car in which the Israelis were travelling, and at a time there was no risk to their lives. The information gathered indicates that shooting by one of them caused the death of Ben Yosef Livnat hy"d.
The investigation revealed that before their interview by the Palestinian Authority they coordinated the versions to be issued. Also, after the shooting, members of the patrol scattered stones on the road, in order to create a false impression of stones hurled at them during the event and that it was self-defense.
Further, with the initiative of the officer in charge of security of Jenid prison where they were held, a deliberate sabotage of one of the detainees' legs was done in order to create "evidence" that supports this false situation.
Interrogation of the detainees still continues. After exhaustion of interrogation, their investigation files will be transferred to the Judea and Samaria Attorney to file charges against them.
