Red alert sounded in Ashkelon and all the surrounding settlements: this morning (Wednesday), at around 5:30, Palestinians fired a Grad rocket from Gaza into southern Israel.
After searching, the rocket, which apparently exploded in an open area, has not yet been detected, causing no casualties or damage.
According to the positioning system a number of launches were identified to the city of Ashkelon and to the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council, in practice only one rocket was fired.
Last month another launching from the Gaza Strip was reported at the Eshkol Regional Council. Then it was reported that the rocket exploded in an open area, causing no damage or other injuries.
