After nine cases of vandalism and Ant-Semitic graffiti spray in synagogues in Bat Yam, Ayalon Police stopped this morning (Sunday) a 48-year-old man suspected of graffiti.

In recent months, four synagogues in Bat Yam were repeatedly vandalized by graffiti on synagogue doors.

Central Synagogue Ohel on Vradim Street was vandalized four times, Mikdash Melelch synagogue on Haviva Reich was vandalized twice, synagogue, Tifereth Israel, on Hadadi Street was vandalized twice, and the synagogue, Adas Yeshurun on Hadadi Street was vandalized once.

Following these cases, hidden security cameras have been installed to help documentation and capturing criminals.

The video is posted here for the first time, you can see the suspect comes to the synagogue, looks around and starts spraying the door of the synagogue, and then leaves the place.

The last case occurred on Friday night, around 23:00, a person came to the Mikdash Melech synagogue on Haviva Reich Street in Bat Yam, and sprayed black spray crosses on the doors of the synagogue.

Synagogue members discovered the horror upon arrival to the synagogue on Shabbos morning, checked on Motzei Shabbos the security cameras, where the sprayer is seen when he comes and performs the actions.

Security cameras record was transferred to the police investigators at Ayalon. As mentioned, this morning a person was arrested after he was observed on the security cameras. The suspect is a resident of the city, apparently deranged.

Moshe Ishai, member of the Ohel synagogue, defaced four times, explained that the reason why the police failed to capture the same man so far, since he acted alone, so that intelligence information has not brought results in the field.

Is the graffiti "price tag – Ohel" at the Orthodox cemetery on Bat Yam Street in Jaffa last weekend related to the Ohel synagogue members? "Absolutely not!" Yishai says. "It has no connection to our synagogue, we condemn it vehemently."

Tel Aviv Police have confirmed the details, and said that during his investigation the suspect connected himself to the allegations, and tomorrow the police will ask the Magistrates Court in Tel Aviv to extend his detention. They will also ask to send him to psychiatric observation.
