The principal of the Talmud Torah Tachover in Tzfat informed a parent who wanted to register his young son for the next school year, that he refuses to accept his son to the institution. The reason: The boy's older brother uses an iPhone.

Yesterday (Wednesday) the father came to the director of the Talmud Torah, after technical problems arose with the previous institution the child attended. A knowledgeable source said that the principal expressed his agreement in principle to accept the child, but demanded of his father to answer some questions. One of them was: "Do you or anyone in your family own an iPhone?"

The father replied that he does not hold an advanced device, but his son, 18, has an iPhone.

The principal promised to come back with an answer.

This morning, when the father and principal talked, the latter said that he is willing to accept the child to the institution, but he has conditions, "either you install filtering to the iPhone in such a way that will not allow web browsing or you suspend your older son from home."

The father was shocked and tried to explain that his son uses the iPhone for work purposes. But his explanation did not help.

Behadrey Haredim tried to ask the Talmud Torah principal's response and the latter said: "I do not know you and I will not talk with a site that was not approved by Gedolei Yisroel."
