While in Eretz Yisroel one makes do with instilling the awareness of the war against the ravages of technology by conventional tools, such as newspaper ads, in streets, internal organization of institutions, sending letters to parents, etc., the U.S. adopts creative initiatives.
Activists are initiating local conferences, and a number of conferences have already been held in Boro Park, Squira, Lakewood and more.
In Williamsburg, two such conferences will be held, with each branch of Satmar holding a separate conference.
Although initially they wanted to have the conventions on Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan, the day on which these conferences were held in various places, activists were unable to hold them in Williamsburg, because of the great fundraising events held for the benefit of institutions. Therefore they decided to postpone them after Shvuos. Now it appears that they will be held next week, towards the end month of Sivan.
The scheduled date is next Sunday, parshas Korach.
The conference which was organized by Satmar, called "Hadar kibluhu chomosayich Williamsburg" will be held in the large park area on Tiller Street.
The conference will be attended by Williamsburg residents, led by the city's rabbis and will sharpen the regulations that have already been established elsewhere.
