Fanatics against Chassidish Talmud Torah: teaching English

Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon, a group of about 15 Sikrik's arrived at the intersection of Yechezkel and Shmuel Hanavi Streets in downtown Jerusalem to demonstrate against the Talmud Torah Kedushas Hatorah. The reason for the protest: Integrating English studies in the Talmud Torah.

The Talmud Torah is conducted under the direction of the influential Rabbi Tzvi Meir Silberberg, and orders of the school are managed using the 'zichro' method. The Talmud Torah study is considered one of the highest in Jerusalem, when many of the best families in the capital are knocking on its doors.

A few years ago the Sadigur institutions merged their Talmud Torah which closed with the Talmud Torah, but added the name 'Sadigur'. The Rebbe of Sadigura serves as president of the institution.
The Talmud Torah entered the shoes of the Sadigur Foundation, when according to the recording of Sadigur in the past, it does not an exempted institution but recognized unofficially. As a result, the Talmud Torah is committed to teach English, and under the direction of the Rebbe of Sadigura and Hgrtz"m the children indeed learn English.

This is anathema for the Sikrik's who came to demonstrate against the Talmud Torah. This is despite the fact that the Talmud Torah studies are directed by the Gedolei Yisrael and according to their orders.

Much admiration which is won for Hgrtz"m Silberberg by all levels of society, led to condemnation of the protesters and supporters around Hgrtz"m tell us that they are planning a protest rally on the degradation of honor of the Torah.

A source close to the management of the Talmud Torah told B'Chadrei Charedim that directors of the Cheder told teachers not to refer to demonstrations and to continue studies as usual.
