Simcha in the yeshiva world: Rabbi Shmuel Yaakov Borenstein, head of Yeshivat Kiryat Melech (66), became engaged this evening (Motzei Shabbos).

The bride is Rebbetzin Rachel Genfen (55), the widow of Rabbi Moshe Gefen zt"l, one of the Roshei Yeshiva of Yeshivat Knesset Yitzchak in Hadera, who was killed two years ago by a train, the day after Yom Kippur.

The proposed match was publicized some time ago in the yeshiva, but Hgrs"y Bornstein waited with the engagement until the week - the end of the thirty days of the death of his wife, Sarah Rashia Bornstein a"h.

B'Chadrei Charedim learned that the matchmaker is Rabbi Benyamin Rimmer, son in law of Rav Elyashiv zt"l, which also serves as Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshivat Kiryat Melech.

The vort was held this evening at the home of the mother in law, Shoshana Kaplan, wife of Rabbi Zvi Kaplan, of blessed memory, who served as Rosh Kollel in Tel - Aviv, Sokolov Street in Bnei - Brak.

The wedding will be held in a few weeks, with the participation of close relatives only.
