When R' Chaim and Gab"d met at Harav Elyashiv's home • Gallery and Video

Marking eleven months after the ptirah of Rav Elyashiv zt"l, a hachnasas Sefer Torah was held last night (Monday) in his memory at the Beis Midrash Tiferes Bachurim in Mea Shearim, Jerusalem – in which Hagry"s gave shiurim every day for decades.

The event was held in conjunction with the founding of a decade to Tiferes Bachurim, led by the son of Hagry"s Eliyashiv – Binyamin David Elyashiv.

Finishing of writing the letters was in Rav Elyashiv zt"l on Hannan Street in Jerusalem, attended by all the sons and sons-in-law of Rav Eliyashiv zt"l.



On the occasion, son-in-law of Hagry"s – R' Chaim Kanievsky - came especially from Bnei Brak, while stipulating a condition before that he would only come if he serves as Sandak at a Bris, and indeed, a number of fathers making a Bris pounced on the opportunity to win the Sandeka'us of R' Chaim of their children and one of them won. R' Chaim continued to write letters and then went to pray at the Kosel.

For the writing of letters, aside from the family, Av Beis Din of the Eida Haredis Hagri"t Weiss, the Toldos Aharon Rebbe and Hgra"i Finkel Rosh Yeshiva Mir, arrived too.

The event was entertained by Avraham Leib Burstein chairman of Kleizmerim organization, and clarinetist Chilik Frank.
