Eideh Charedi planning "to convey a message to the secular in the city"

Expected operation of the old station complex in Jerusalem on Shabbos may result in an uncompromising struggle: While various factors in the haredi community try to resolve to prevent the desecration of Shabbos at the compound, the Eideh Charedi in are considering soon announcing the opening of a mass public struggle.

Although the compound is privately owned, recently orthodox factors tried to affect the developer and owner of the compound, Avi Murdoch, to close the doors on Shabbos and holidays. As reported in B'Chadrei Charedim, a meeting took place this week with the participation of Rabbi Reuven Elbaz, Yitzchak Goldknof, Yossi Deitch and Yitzchak Pindrus who tried to persuade Murdoch, so far without success.

B'Chadrei Charedim learned that the Eideh Charedi decided to organize a fight in the coming weeks of a mass Kabalas Shabbos in the city streets. So far there is no final decision regarding the date and exact location where the protest will take place.
Board meeting held recently in the Eideh, it was decided to discuss two main options: The first is that the protest will take place on Haneviim Street in two weeks, a sign marking four years since the desecration of the Shabbos struggle at the Karta parking lot. The second option is to have the mass prayer in a month and a half as a sign 200 Eideh protests against the desecration of Shabbos.

Meanwhile, Eideh explained, that the chosen location is Haneviim Street, on which live mostly secular residents, in order to convey a message to the secular in the city, because if they continue the trend of opening businesses and entertainment venues on Shabbos and holidays, there will be that the price of the Haredi takeover in the secular neighborhoods.
