Media man Yankie Palei, head of the 'Eretz Hachaim' organization, was threatened by Atra Kadisha activists - and his front door was vandalized several times.

Installed security cameras recorded the vandals, and Palei filed a complaint with the Israel Police.

Previously the 'Society for the Prevention desecration of graves' operated in building sites around the country, as a competitor organization to the activity of Atra Kadisha, to oversee the building where supervision is necessary to avoid desecration of graves.

But a few months ago several seniors of the organization retired. That being, after absorbing a series of constant harassment from the rival organization. In one case, Atra Kadisha demonstrated even caused a miscarriage to a wife of one of the rabbis of the organization.

To fill the void which formed, Yankie Palei - better known in the press and radio, who operates with the support of Hgr"n Kerlitz - went into action.

Palei, a new player in the field, learned the job quickly. He focused mainly on the works carried out at the Nesher excavations compound and decided to go against the activities of Atra Kadisha on the site, claiming that inspectors of the organization are harming Jewish graves.

This was not the only task of Palei. Two weeks ago he went to explore the north of the country and visited construction sites. In the afternoon, he came to Meron, to check the work on the spot. Along with an inspector who had previously worked at the Society for the Prevention desecration of graves he toured the site, until one of the members of Atra Kadisha spotted the two.

"That evening I got a call," Palei says to Behadrey Haredim. "A man who was on the line asked me what I was looking for in Meron. I answered without fear that I came to see how 'Atra Kadisha' are working in Meron. He said: 'You're in trouble' - and hung up."

The next day a stink bomb was placed behind the door of Palei and the door lock was blocked with glue.

Palei rushed to the police and installed covert and overt security cameras.

A week passed and again a stink bomb was thrown near his home. The door was smeared with tar and the lock blocked again.

The documentation - which is revealed here for the first time on Behadrey Haredim - shows two youngsters wearing, for reasons of camouflage, clothes of Litvishe yeshiva students.

Palei offers those who recognize the terrorists at his door a prize of $ 1,000. "I have been allowed in the Beis Din of Hgr"n Kerlitz to file a police complaint and handle them on the legal level," he says.

He said the acts of harassment - which he attributes to 'Atra Kadisha' members – are stimulating him to continue his operations. "They bought themselves a name of a bunch of criminals. Terrorism against me will not make me stop the activity. If up until today I did not openly yell that I am working to prevent desecration of graves - today I have a reason to shout it.

"Not just because I'm not afraid, but also because I have a goal that people should know how an organization which previously received the support of Gedolei Yisroel – is operating. That donors who finance them should know there is no reason to do so."

Palei further declares that he is not going to stop his activity, rather "keep it at full speed despite repeated harassment" against him and his family.

"It's not pleasant," he explains and declares: "I may not know their limits to worry about them, but when it comes to sacred work - there is no reason to stop.

The response of Atra Kadisha was not available. When it is received – it will be published.
