The Eideh Charedi failed in trying to recruit additional chassiduses to participate in a demonstration against conscription of yeshiva students.
The Eideh plans to conduct a rally on Thursday in Jerusalem against the conscription of yeshiva students.
B'Chadrei Charedim learned that despite the referrals made by various factors within the Eideh Charedi, have decided today (Monday) Gur, Belz and other chassidic courts not to participate in the rally.
Members of the Eideh, were also prepared to change the rally position from the recruitment office in Jerusalem, to another location. But chassidic representatives continued to refuse.
The refusal is joined the avoidance of the leaders of the Lithuanian and Sephardic public to participate in the rally.
Chassidic courts are not completely convinced that the rally will be directed only against the recruitment and feared that the General Assembly will include speeches or titles against Orthodox representatives in the Knesset, or against the state. "It's something that we could not guarantee that will not happen," said one chassidic activist, "A dayan stands and speaks, no one can shut his mouth."
Another reason to avoid it is due to timing: "Public outrage is currently directed against the Ministry of Finance who imposed harsh economic policies. Such a rally may bring the Haredim back to the headlines; there is no good reason to do so."
Smaller chassiduses like Bayan, Rachmastrivka and Slonim tend to participate in the General Assembly but have not yet finally decided.
So far it is clear that Eideh heads will participate as well as Hgr"sh Auerbach who is affiliated with the fanatics, but his impact on the Lithuanian public is small. Likewise, Hgr"s Vosner added his signature to a letter he had signed with heads and dayanim of Badatz.
