The terrorist, Ziyad Ibrahim Maschal, 24, formerly worked in Salafis – Jihad organizations. In recent years, he was a major terror anchor in the Gaza Strip. He was an weapon expert who worked with all terrorist organizations in the Strip.
About a month ago, rockets were fired from Sinai at Eilat, Maschal was involved in promoting and realizing the attack.
The GSS note that his activity was known to Hamas officials, who failed to address him. Israel clarifies that it is the responsibility of Hamas to prevent terror attacks carried out, planned and promoted within the Gaza Strip.
