Tens of thousands attended on Motzei Shabbos the lighting of the bonfire in Kiryat Yoel in Monroe, in New York.
The bonfire, according to the AP agency which was attended by more than 50 thousand people, was held after at 23:30 the Satmar Rebbe came to Tishim Hall, where the chalaka was held for the 125 children of the chassidus.
At midnight the Rebbe went out to the large square of the Beit Midrash. After singing awakening melodies, the Rebbe rose and lit the flame in honor of the holy Tanna Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
Tens of thousands of revelers danced out of joy that lasted hours. Satmar chassidim danced with knitted skullcaps, Belz Hasidim and Square with Lithuanians - all danced together for the holy Tanna until almost dawn.
After the dance the audience went into the Beit Midrash Great Hall, where there was a lechaim tish. At the beginning of the tish was sold the lighting of two candles sold for 1500 dollars each. After lighting the candles and lechaim the Rebbe spoke divrei kodesh. Among others the Rebbe spoke about Rabbi Shimon's merit, as noted by the Bnei Yissachar that it is against nature's way, and as we know everything spiritual is against the laws of nature and therefore there is no limit to where Rabbi Shimon arrives. So I want to say to all assembled, "said the Rebbe," that anyone can speak with Rashbi. Rashbi is here and you can ask him all you want".
After the words of the Rebbe the public continued dancing.
