Haredi money changer robbed in Romema: 30 thousand shekels

This evening, around 19:30, there was a robbery in Romema, Jerusalem: money changer robbed of the estimated amount of NIS 30 thousand.

Money changer Yaakov K. ate dinner this evening with his wife at 'Mifgash Haesh' on Tuval Street in Jerusalem. At one point he left the money with his wife, and went out to buy something.

After he returned and they finished eating, they went toward the vehicle. At this point two minorities jumped on the woman, and robbed the money in her possession.

Apparently, the robbers followed the couple, and were waiting in the alley outside the restaurant.

Two foreign yeshiva students who are passing the robbers managed to take over, but the bandits' getaway driver appeared, sprayed pepper gas שא the two men and at the woman who was robbed - and the robbers fled in a car.

The couple did not need medical treatment.

The police were called and began a search.
