Attack last night.
The more details about the explosions that occurred last night (Monday) at the Boston Marathon finish line become clear, the picture becomes more difficult. Behadrey Haredim learned that at the time of the explosion, the local Chabad emissary, Rabbi Yossi Zaklus – was in close proximity to,the place and put on tefillin to Jewish marathon participants.
So far the blast took the lives of three people. More than 140 were injured in two explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. According to some reports, another explosion occurred in the library in the city, but it is not sure that the incidents are related. A Saudi citizen who is under observation in a hospital in the city was detained on suspicion of involvement in the incidents.
"There was a loud explosion to my left side," Rabbi Zaklus told VIN News, "People panicked and started running to the other side. Not more than 20 seconds passed when there was another explosion on the other side. People already realized the first explosion is not an accident.
"It was chaos," he recalls, "total confusion. Individuals did not know where to go, some ran, ran, and some remained on their place in shock. I stood there and tried to convey a sense of calm for people who need help and assistance. I let those who needed to use my cell phone. I suggested help to anyone who needed".
Even before the explosion, says the Rav, "Only one passerby had put on tefillin."
Rabbi Zaklus spent last night in a hospital nearby the explosions area, where he visited the patients.
