Last will: not to involve authorities against discrimination

The last will and testament of Hagaon R' Yakov Yosef zt"l was published at the funeral by the Mekubal Hagaon R' Yaakov Ades, who noted that the Rav zt"l wanted to publicize it before his burial.

Two major things were emphasized by Hagr"y in his will: a. The severity of the prohibition of national service for girls, although Hagaon was related to the settlers, however, he indicated that it was most strictly forbidden and brought the letter of the Kehillos Yaakov zt"l on the issue.

b. Not to involve the legal system concerning discrimination, as in the case of Emmanuel affair, and everything must be with understanding and without involving the authorities.

The levaya was started with Tehillim and hesped by Hagaon R' Moshe Amar and Hagaon R' Bakshi Doron, and then the Kabbalist Rabbi Yaakov Ades, who also said kabalas ol malchus shamayim and the 13 Middos with the thousands at the levaya.

After reciting Kaddish, his son, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef Rosh Kolle in Beit Shemesh, told of the greatness of his father who never went on vacation, and devoted his life to his lessons with messirus nefesh, and recalled the terrible decree that his grandfather Hgr"o has pain to bury his son.

Later hespedim were said by his son Yonatan Yosef, and Hagaon R' Ben Zion Mutzafi who said farewell and was reminiscing from his period of studies in the Porat Yosef yeshiva.

After the hespedim, the funeral procession left the Borochov shull through the streets of Bar Ilan, Yirmiahu, the entrance to the city, Sakharov Gardens and Har Hamenuchot.

The last hesped was delivered by his father Hagaon R' Ovadia Yoseph Shibl"h, at Har Hamenuchot.
