Kiryat Yoel in shock: a violent kidnapping attempt of a yeshiva student

Anxiety in Kiryat Yoel following attempted kidnapping of a yeshiva student.

Yeshiva boy tried to hitch a ride to the city's largest Beis Medrash., on Nikolsburg Street corner of Montana.

White car stopped near him and two strangers sitting inside grabbed the young man and put him in the car by force.

Moshe Leib Oitriel, commander of the city Public Security Force describes what happened: "The driver stopped for the hitch hiker, the door of the car opened and two young men caught the boy and dragged him into the vehicle.

"The car began a mad gallop out of town. Meanwhile, kidnappers pulled scissors, grabbed his hands by force, cut off his peyos, emptied his pockets of all his possessions and robbed him.

"The youngster struggled with the kidnappers, he managed to open the door, jump out and run for his life.

"When he reached the first store on his way, he called the Guardians of Kiryat Yoel who were rushed to the area. Extensive searches were conducted but were unsuccessful.
The young man arrived with his father at the nearest police station, filed a complaint with the police and informed them of what happened. Police launched a manhunt trying to locate the kidnappers, hoping that they can get their hands on them.

Moshe Leib Oitriel, emphasizes that, in light of the many assault cases which actually began two and a half years ago, when similar kidnapping attempt occurred, began to spread security cameras all over the city, but their occurrence has not yet been completed.

"It is important that the public be vigilant and alert and report to us any instance in which observed a suspicious vehicle," ask Oitriel.
In addition: Last motzei Shabbos, an avrech went down at night to take out the garbage. A vehicle stopped him and asked him for directions to a nearby store and when he approached the car the thief jumped out of the car, grabbed his yarmulke and hit him.

The scholar was able to escape and jotted down the vehicle number. The next day he complained to the police and they arrested the owner who claimed that his son had stolen the vehicle from him. In the afternoon the father came to the police station with his son and returned the yarmulke.
