Shortly before 17:00 a fatal road accident occurred on Route 90 near Kibbutz Kalia in the North Dead Sea.

The driver lost control of his vehicle; he swerved along the road and overturned. The vehicle caught fire and the driver was burned to death.

Rescuers and the fire brigade were called to the scene, and after extinguishing the fire, the body was identified.

ZAKA volunteers were called to the scene along with police forensic team, and treated the dead with honor.

Following the condition of the deceased, it was not possible to identify instantly who it was, and after about two hours, received information that it was a resident of Shmuel Hanavi Street in Jerusalem. He left nine orphans.

Rabbi Abraham Nagar a ZAKA volunteer in SJ district, said, "This is the most shocking accident, car driver on his way from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea Road apparently lost control of his car turned over into the roadside ditch and caught fire."

"When I arrived with the ZAKA staff the driver was trapped in the car dead after being burned. ZAKA team Ma'ale Adumim treated the dead and collected findings. "

SJ District Police are investigating the incident.
