Tonight (Sunday) at 20:00 opened Holocaust Memorial Day events at the Yad Vashem official ceremony.

At the ceremony, the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reminded the Iranian issue in his speech.

The ceremony was attended by President Shimon Peres, Knesset Speaker MK Yuli Edelstein and his wife, President of Supreme Court Justice Asher Grunis and his wife, the chief rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Shlomo Amar and Rabbi Yona Metzger and others.

"To our remorse," said the President, "there are those who learned nothing. Young skinheads. Scientists supposedly clad in suits. Yeah! There are those who have forgotten the Holocaust and Holocaust deniers. Not all volcanoes have been extinguished. Crises again utilized to build again Nazi parties, ridiculous, but dangerous. Sickening anti-Semitic caricatures published yet again, the name of freedom of expression, so to speak. Journey for justice and freedom is not yet over.

"The civilized world must ask itself how it happens so soon after the crematoriums were extinguished, after the terrible death toll the Allies paid to subdue the Nazi devil. The Iranian leadership can still can walk around in open leadership, and deny the Holocaust, and threaten with a Holocaust."

Netanyahu also addressed the Iranian threat, saying, "In every generation," Netanyahu said, "one must see himself as if he survived the Holocaust and established the state. In every generation we are commanded to ensure that there will not be another Holocaust.

"A few days ago, I said goodbye to a young Lt. - Colonel who served in the Secretariat military in the Prime Minister's Office. He is going down to the south to train officers as the army's future leaders. In the farewell ceremony he moved me when he told of his grandmother Hannah. Hannah is a survivor of Auschwitz. Nazis carved on Hannah's arm a number ending with 78, and fate decided that the ID number received by Hannah in Israel also ended with the numbers 78. Hannah number of death at Auschwitz extermination camp is the number of her life in Israel. Hannah, watching us now, survived the Nazi camps. She immigrated to Israel, her husband fought the War of Independence, and today her grandson, an officer in the Israel Defense trains our future leaders that their mission to ensure that we will live here forever.

"Iran openly declares its intention to destroy Israel, and it runs all the means to achieve this goal. 'Zionists' I now quote the religious leaders in Iran, 'the Zionists are bacteria microbes'.' The Jews', quote, 'are dirty people who spread disease'. It's not what was said only then - it was said today. 'Israel', says today the ruler of Iran, is a cancerous tumor that must be uprooted from the Middle East. 'The murderous hatred against the Jews, which accompanied the history of our people - this hatred has not disappeared from the world. It was just replaced by murderous hatred against the Jewish state. What have changed since the Holocaust is our determination and our ability to defend ourselves, by ourselves.

"Declaration of Independence 65 years ago gave us a country, and has given us the ability to accept independent decisions necessary to ensure our future here. We know to act to protect ourselves. In this place today, I pledge: there will never be another Holocaust."

Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev, raised the torch of remembrance.

During the ceremony, six torches were lit. Parallel to the Jerusalem a memorial ceremony was also held in Tel Yitzhak.

Events of the year are marked by "70 years of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising."

Today came to Poland a special delegation from the army led by Chief of Staff - Gen. Benny Gantz, who said: "I am proud to lead the army and head of the delegation requesting discreetly, with pain and lowered head in memory of the victims, and of respect for the survivors, to take responsibility for learning the lessons of the past and ensure the security of future ".

Tomorrow, Holocaust Remembrance Day, a honking sound of silence will be heard in memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators. The siren will begin immediately after the wreath-laying ceremony for monument Warsaw Ghetto at Yad Vashem. An hour later, reading of the names of Holocaust victims at the Knesset will open - "Every person has a name."
