"Yeshiva students, please don't go hiking on Holocaust Day"

The rescue units ask of yeshiva students in a special letter: "avoid a Chilul Hashem. The public, consciousness, even seeming harm does not justify a trip that can be done every other day"

On Bein Hazmanim of the month of Nisan, yeshiva students and haredi families go out to travel around the country of Israel, but not everyone prepare themselves properly for the trip, and often require the assistance of the rescue units.

Towards the Holocaust Memorial Day, which falls tomorrow (Monday), Amir Duvdevani, on behalf of the Golan rescue unit, turns to yeshiva students in a letter, by means of Behadrey Haredim site:

"On Monday, the Holocaust Memorial Day, we too will unite, rescuers from the rescue unit of the Golan Heights, with all of Israel, in rituals and other forms, with the Holocaust Martyrs.

"In recent years, we are called to rescue yeshiva students from all denominations who chose walking on these sites, streams and paths of the Galilee and the Golan Heights.

"The need to rescue brings about a big chilul Hashem as well as damage to the manner in which the 'good guys' are perceived, who are required to leave the important occupation of honoring the Holocaust Memorial Day.

"I appeal to you in every way possible to prevent such a Chilul Hashem. The public and consciousness harm, even seemingly, does not justify a trip that can be done every other day."
