IDF decided: reject entrance to the tomb of Yehoshua Ben Nun

Assessing of the state held today at Judea and Samaria Division, it was decided to postpone the entrance to the tomb of Yehoshua ben Nun in the village of Kef Al - Hras scheduled today (Wednesday) evening, until a later date. This is due to the sensitive security situation in the past day.

Large IDF forces were to be interpreted as the early evening throughout the Palestinian community located kilometers northwest of the city of Ariel, and secure it at all hours of the service, to allow free pedestrian flow around the village to the three graves without the risks and delays, but after evaluation of the situation entrance was denied.

Going to Yehoshua's grave on this day has been customary for many years, as displayed in the ancient book of Yechusa Dezdikya "scholars of Yerushalayim go up after Passover with immigrants and learn the Zohar on the Tomb of Yehoshua."

The graves of Yehoshua, Caleb and Yehoshua's father Nun are located in the heart of the village Timnat Heres (Kef Al-Hras) opposite the city of Ariel in Samaria.
Society of the Yesod Olam foundation, organizers of the pilgrimage to the cemetery said that they regret the IDF's decision to cancel the entry. "It's a tradition for years to pray instead on the hillula," they say, and mention that even on the day of eliminating head of Hamas in Gaza, Dr. Rantisi in 2004 – they did not cancel entrance, and only reinforced security. "We ask the army to reconsider the decision, since masses will arrive at the place anyway."
