Bein Hazmnaim miracle near Moshav Amatzia: The Brown family from Beitar Illit - grandfather, three children and a grandson - went for a trip in the Hazan caves, near the village. During the trip, at 14:30, while crawling and walking through tunnels, two children, Eliyahu and Yehuda Zeev - aged 12 and 14 fell into a shaft 15 feet deep.

Lachish police and rescue forces nearby were called quickly.

MDA teams Lachish were lowered by ropes to the bottom of the pit, where they gave the two wounded children primary health care. According to initial reports, one of them suffered a head injury and the other wounded his limbs.

MDA initially reported that children are in serious condition with multi-system injury but conscious.

At 16:45 David Meir, a fire brigade spokesman said, the fire fighters of the Southern District and special recoveries rescued the two trapped in the cave at Amatzia.
MDA paramedics who went down to the pit, rescued an 11-year-old boy in serious but stable condition and conscious, with abdominal and limb injuries. MDA helicopter evacuated him to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. His brother was treated a little more by paramedics in the pit, and after being rescued was also evacuated.

Etty Dvir, spokeswoman for Hadassah, said to B'Chadrei Charedim that the wounded brothers arrived at the hospital, the 14 year old in stable condition, and the 11 year old was transferred to the trauma unit. Later it was reported that the two injured brothers who arrived at the hospital, underwent preliminary tests, and their condition is defined as mild and stable.

Following the incident, the commander of the police station in Kiryat Gat, Deputy Offer Shomer, opened an investigation against those responsible to run the place at the Moshav. Meanwhile, the commander of the station ordered those responsible for the place to close all openings which are a hazard in the caves, and forbade the entry of travelers to the site until the end of the investigation. Tomorrow representatives of the Moshav will be brought for a hearing before the station commander.

Station commander referred to the case and said: "This is a case where two children were injured during a holiday trip. We once again urge the public to ensure the safety instructions are tailored to the area where they decide to go to."
