During yom tov of seventh day of Pesach thieves broke into Yeshiva Ohel Moshe, located on 16 Devora Haneviah Street in Bnei Brak uprooted a heavy safe - and fled.
According to the complainants, over half a million shekels was stolen from the safe.
It is estimated that a large part of the money stolen was a legacy left by Rabbi Moshe Malka zt"l, head of the Ohel Moshe institutions in Bnei Brak who passed away on Tisha B'Av after a prolonged illness.
According to another estimate, the money stolen was much higher than reported, but the yeshiva did not report it for various reasons.
A complaint was filed with police, but so far no suspects were identified.
Dan Region police launched an investigation.
